Reactor Cleaning Hose

Cleaning large diameter piping is a challenging task for many reasons. This equipment eliminates operator hazard and provides cleaner, more accurate results.
This cleaning system uses a rotating nozzle unit and pressure sources to clean reactors, separators, heat exchanger heads and other process tanks. The nozzles are resistant to caustic.

Nozzles

The nozzles in the reactor cleaning hose are rotated while spraying to clean the reactor and agitator. The rotation eliminates the need for people to enter the reactor and reduces cleaning time. Lechler offers several types of rotating spray devices. The nozzles are designed to remove the most difficult soils.

The internal surfaces of chemical reaction tanks must be cleaned on a regular basis to prevent the buildup of contamination on the reactor walls and agitator blades that causes inefficiencies and down stream contamination. Regular tank and vessel cleaning by high pressure water jet systems improves heat transfer efficiencies, increases production rates and lowers a plant’s overall operating costs.

The rotating cleaning nozzles in the reactor cleaning hose can be positioned freely on the hose or via a high-pressure pipe vertically or horizontally in the container to be cleaned. The nozzles can also be partially or fully automatically positioned by means of a special device.

Hoses

Reactor cleaning systems are typically based on heated hoses that deliver spray foam and polyurea. These hoses must be properly maintained to avoid damage and ensure that they will continue to perform well. Heated hoses must be insulated to prevent the buildup of moisture. Moisture in the hoses can cause the hose to fail, leading to the loss of valuable materials and time spent on rework.

Traditional methods for preparing and cleaning tubes require operators to manually feed the nozzles into each tube and then depress a foot pedal to initiate high-pressure water jet flow. This process can be slow and tedious, and holding onto the nozzle while water scours the inside of the tube can lead to operator fatigue over time.

This hose reel-type cleaning equipment is light and compact, making it ideal for use in plants with limited ceiling height restrictions. It also offers a variety of motor drives for repeated elevation and point cleaning.
