JC Petroleum Equipment Factory manufactures and supplies API 16c hose for use in the choke and kill manifold system on oilfield drilling rigs. The hose features an inner tube of oil, acid and alkali resistant neoprene rubber and a protective stainless steel sheath.
The hose is subject to stringent API guidelines including hydrostatic testing and cyclic bending tests at rated temperatures. It also passes a series of exposure tests evaluating gas permeation and decompression.
LETONE’s choke and kill line hoses have been proven to be durable, reliable and safe. Our hoses have passed all of the rigorous testing required by API 16c. This includes hydrostatic pressure test up to 30,000 PSI, cyclical bending tests at minimum rated temperature and room temperature, and simulated “well kick” test under heavy loads at 20,000 PSI for 30 minutes with no loss of pressure.
Our hoses are made of high-quality materials, including neoprene rubber that resists oil, acid and alkali. They are also built with abrasion, cutting, gouging and low-temperature resistant steel wire reinforced layers to ensure the highest level of strength and safety. The hoses can be equipped with a variety of couplings, such as welding or integral forged unions, flanges and clamp connection type. Special types are available upon request.
With the Stena acquisition completed in 1995, Coflexip began acquiring other companies in order to expand its service capability. However, the company found that synergy between the various services was difficult to achieve, and by 1996 sales were on the decline.
The company reorganized and began to refocus its efforts on its core subsea petroleum markets. It also increased its U.S. presence with a 25 percent stake in Houston’s Cal-Dive International. Coflexip also focused on introducing new systems such as the flexible Teta pipe design and its innovative Flexconnect system, developed in conjunction with Perry Tritech, a leading designer of submarine robotic systems.
Coflexip hoses are manufactured strictly in accordance with API 16C guidelines. They must pass a series of stringent tests including hydrostatic pressure test, cyclical bending testing at minimum rated temperature and multiple burst tests. In addition, they must be able to withstand hostile oil and gas conditions such as chemical exposure and well kick.
Coflexip hose is made strictly to API 16c standards and features armored, thermal insulation, high pressure resistance, anti-flaming, fire resistant and abrasion resistance. It is used for connection of choke and kill manifold to the control consoles, as well as transport of oil, gas, mud and other high pressure media.
All bodies, bonnets and stems are constructed of materials to meet API Spec 16C. Pressure counting parts such as bodies, bonnets, plugs and caps shall have connections which will assure installation in the correct manner and prevent their installation into pressure gauge systems.
The welding procedures for all connections are documented in a WPS (written procedure) and PQR (procedure qualification record). The WPS shall include essential, non-essential and supplementary essential variables required for the welder/welding operator to qualify the welds to API 16C. The WPS and PQR shall be available for inspection. All welds shall be fully fusion tested for complete fusion. The outer cover of the hose is made of abrasion, oil and weather resistant neoprene rubber with stainless steel armor layer.
Bodies, bonnets, plugs and caps shall be fabricated from materials that comply with API Spec 16C Table 4.5.2. The weld procedure must be written and documented as per API Spec 16C Section 6.5 and the PQR (procedure qualification record) shall record essential and supplementary essential variables.
Pressure containing parts such as bodies, bonnets and end connections shall be inspected for hardness and strength by the manufacturer after fabrication. This shall be done at a minimum of three test locations and documented in accordance with API Spec 16C Table 5.4.
Hoses and couplings can be manufactured to H2S service and are available in a range of sizes, pressures and configurations.
